LARD CORP // The Lard Movement

The Lard Movement was no longer a cult but a certified civil sect. It even had a special tax status. In Europe, its congregants numbered 100 million. They ran clinics, lobby groups, community centres. Collections ran into the trillions. But despite all the gloss and the pomp that came with being a bonafide neoreligious organisation, despite all the publicity, their behaviour was still cult-like. Secrecy shrouded their activities, their strange rituals. What had gotten past the censors, whispers mostly, was too horrid to be the truth.
